I was born in England and raised in South Africa. I began my professional acting career at the age of 12. One Sunday afternoon I was going through the Sunday papers and came across an ad 'auditions for children to star in the hit show 'Annie''. Auditions were held nationwide over a grueling 3month period - fortunately I was cast. The show ran and toured for over a year and was a huge success and an incredible experience. I did a few more musicals after that singing and dancing in shows like Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and his amazing Technicolor Dream coat and completed my last three years of school at Johannesburg Art Ballet Music and Drama as well as received my speech teaching diploma with honors from Trinity College of London Now that I was out of school I found myself doing more serious theatre work and then landed a regular role on a TV show called Orpen House which ran for a year. At this time I was filming during the day and doing theatre work at night one of my favorite theatre pieces being the controversial play Beirut. From TV, I moved into film work and an opportunity to work with international people namely one of the all time greats the late Oliver Reed. After my father passed away I decided to explore Europe and traveled for 8 months before I came to the U.S.A. Moving across continents is not an easy undertaking but what a privilege to be exposed to so many cultures. My first job offer in the U.S was an in depth Barbie commercial but alas my working papers were not in order. However I continued my love for the theatre and worked with the renowned Stella Adler, Ron Burrus and Sandra Seacat and became a member of the Met Theatre Co. I have built up a resume of guest starring TV appearances as well as independent art films such as Art Deco and appeared on stage with Ed Harris in a play called Scar. I landed a national commercial whilst being pregnant with my now 3year old little girl and am currently shopping an action conspiracy screenplay which I wrote with my husband. |
